Family Feud, or Coevolution
Family Feud, or Coevolution
By Xiaoyuan Yin
It flows from remote antiquity into unchronicled future ages:
Oceans and fresh continental shelves,
Nautiluses and sea scorpions,
Also, catfish and their ‘feathered prey’-- the pigeons;
Now it is between the inferno and moodiness lingering on the mind of a decadent
Every legend in the wind is but about you and her. A blacksmith shouts: “Sharpen thy canine teeth!
Tear apart thy foe, or thy owneth sanity!”
Slow down, you said, it is way larger than equilibrium distance between us, dust – harbinger of fate
Has foreboded the thorough downfall of food chains. He who to caves and the grasslands belongs
Will be left forlorn and defenseless;
Hurry up, you said otherwise this time, God is standing there in a pool of shimmering light, just among us
Endowing me with golden horns and hoofs, as if labeling me as inedible.
The hummingbird snuggles its head in pineapple flowers, like a beauty sits
In a haute couture dress, and grieves ceremoniously
-- You could never know, whether the ‘she’ of yours
Would have bloodthirsty fangs that fit your throat. It is not on today, though,
There is still time left… at this moment there is even a smiling air about her, reflected on her picturesque features
Withering water veins makes the story droop, while snarling sand scorches everything involved.
Among everything,
You vanish simultaneously into multi-dimensional coordinate spaces…
And before that
Highly similar speed and coincidental paths, which the researcher, apathetic and detached as he always was
Will never comprehend
