Coming Home

The pain gets stronger each and every day
I hide it from all I can
One day I will I will share my fears
Right now I have to be the man

I fear every other day Im not going to go
But I get up, man up and show.
My family needs me more than I need me
I won’t let them see me cry
I’m fading faster than I want
Then I see the Twinkle in their eye

Yes my grandchildren keep me alive
My wife and boys are already grown
Dialysis you will not win
Day after day I strive

I am not finished with this world
I have things I need to see
My family all grown up
To see what they will be

So lord please keep me around
Till they have blossomed and grown
Then pull the plug on this old machine
And call this tired man home
