Oh,come, let us travel through
The valley of The Roe: Dungiven,
Limavady, Drumsurn, Gortnaghey,
Ballykelly, Terrydremond, Glack,
Boveagh, Ballerin, Myroe, and
Magilligan… All of a beauty
Created this side of
The Sperrins
That is equal
To any place
In the land
Of the Gael.

Alongside those mentioned
There are of course others such
As the braes of the Largy, Kanes
Rock, the shore of Lough Foyle and the
Country Park at the Green and, of
Of course, the river which gave
The valley its name.

A vale of beauty with a unique
Culture and history. Providing the
Seed to produce ‘The Limavady Air’-
The soul of the immortal ‘Danny Boy’.
An air so beautiful and in the valley its
Roots are there alongside ‘Finvola, The
Gem Of The Roe’ and, of course,
The lovely ‘Peg Of Limavady’.

So, let us go to that valley where
My seeds were planted, nurtured, and
Sprouted. From where, occasionally,
I hear the murmuring of the Roe
Across the vale of the clan of
Ó Cahan.
