The Politicians Game

06/09/2012

Inside I have a hunger the pain does not subside
Each morning when I wake up it's like a flooding tide
My heart it fills with sadness my mind gets full of woe
Each day I try and start again I have so far to go

People only see me they can't see in my head
All the pain and worry that makes me see just red
They think I am a mad man they know not of my shame
I lost so many brothers in the politicians game

It's war they said go fight for us, go do your duty now
Yet all they did was stay at home and in parliament they'd row
The cost is one we must endure it is their present job
Lay down their lives for England , let those at home just sob

So if you see me crying or laying in the rain
Come hold my hand and help me or I'll always be the same
The time it is the present but for me I'm in the past
Will the scenes inside my muddled head forever last I ask
