Insanity

Insanity is defined by doing the same thing and expecting a different result.

Politicians take a country war
Ever wonder just what for.
Lives of the young to stay that way
For how long no one can say.
Is it time to fight for a cause
Or should we stop and take pause.
The leaders never tell it all
Political ambitions make them so small.
They don’t care about the cost
Until the first young life is lost.
They give mock displays of contrition
Afraid to admit wrong, it brings on sedition.
Really only concerned with votes
The sheep are much more like goats.
Some collateral damage
This they know they can manage.
Just put it out with the right spin
Slight of hand a mortal sin.
When the bodies start to pile
Politicians will all run a mile.
The art of misdirection
It is a very deadly deception.
For those who have to pay the price
Don’t think about it it’s not nice.
Listen instead to what’s being said
Apply the spin keep the masses fed.
Round and round inside their own head
Ever wonder how politicians sleep straight in bed.
Sitting at a table safe from bombs and guns
They make decisions affecting so many mothers’ sons.
Off to war they will all be sent
Coming home in boxes lives all spent.

Insanity is defined by doing the same thing and expecting a different result.
