A day after Chrismas

A day after the big day.
The big day long expected.
The big day of reconciliation and unity among family/friends.
The big day that sends almost everyone home yearly.
The big day lot of people eat without control while some drink themselves to stupor.
The big day some got  involved in evil to celebrate.
A day we will have not till a year.

So quick the big day is gone.
Some wish it could extend a day or more.
Those whom spent extravagantly celebrating the big day have early quarter of next year to contend with.
Those who eat without control, going in and out of the loo awaits them.
Those who drank themselves to stupor will have to suffer hangover.
Not forgetting those who out of their recklessness or God wish kicked the bucket celebrating the big day(RIP).
For those alive and in good health it is boxing day.

This poem beautifully encapsulates the mixed feelings we all experience the day after a big holiday. I particularly appreciate the emphasis on the importance of family and friends coming together, as well as the acknowledgement of the excesses that often accompany these celebrations.

In terms of improvement suggestions, I might suggest adding a bit more emphasis on the positive aspects of the day after the big day. Although it's true that there can be some negative consequences to the festivities, there's also a sense of contentment and relaxation that follows a day spent surrounded by loved ones. Perhaps adding a line or two about the joy of reflecting on the memories created the day before could help balance out some of the more negative aspects of the poem.

Overall, though, I think this poem is a great reminder of the importance of cherishing the time we have with our loved ones, while also being mindful of the potential consequences of our actions.
