I Stood

I stood with them and spoke
Carefully maneuvering my words
Not to offend nor comprehend
They were people that spoke of greed
Their lips curled in an impish grin
Full of sin and of all that was within
They spoke of want and not of need
I could scarcely contain my hate
"Take it all and let them fall!"
"This is their state!"
"This is their fate!"
How many times must I hear?
This constant noise in my ear.
One day the truth will prevail
And words so strong I will exhale.
"Feel the wrath of God upon thee!"
Your eyes shut for Eternity.
