Trust to Build

I know that you see how I am dignified...
No more excitement is found with my trust here.
I sit with a bunch of people every day,
Looking at some Game Guides and Comic Books,
And then something exciting happens all of a sudden,
I look through it and I gasp.

My trust is back, and finally built,
I am pure of my greedy insanity...
I get to do whatever I wanted to do,
And it becomes my career to do my hobby
I get to write poetry as if I wrote a song,
And it's a good coping skill when I'm angry,
So when I feel energy coming to me,
I want to let it bring me up to positivity.

And so I bring my positivity back to me,
For I know what is in store for me,
It's all I wanted...for people to leave me alone,
And let me be in peace all by myself.
I drink water to stay productive,
Yet I drink soda to give myself caffeine,
But instead I drink coffee from my local Dunkin Donuts,
Whenever I have access to the restaurant.

But when it comes time for me to sleep,
I have this dream about a girl I'm BFF's with,
Who moved away to North Carolina,
Thanks to our stupid state taxes rising so high.
But thanks to where I am at now,
I believe in a higher power above me,
One whose son is a mighty Savior,
And that same one who opens my Third Eye.

This one day I can bring that BFF back to me,
I pray to the Grand Old Devine for her to come back,
And I'll be whole again, not so devistated,
And my story may one day end...

Jesse Cochran

Inspired by the freestyle poetry of Walt Whitman and the musically driven attitude of metal musicians Slipknot and Mudvayne, Jesse Cochran is a new poet to join Poetry.net, and he writes poetry that is a little too honest. As a matter of fact, his style of poetry is supposed to be violent and full of language like a metal song's lyrics. But he does aim to write much happier poems once his more angry ones are out of his system. more…
