springs arriving

springs arriving
tis a day we’ve all awaited
     assembled in warm meadows mist,

     chattering birds anticipating,

as curious squirrels leave their nest,

upon the grass await clouds shadows,

     and many others follow soon,

above gold sun looks down then blinks,

     behind the hidden evenings moon,

as the sound of water trickles,

soon a breeze shall murmur slowly,

then the leaves with flourish calling,

tis not winter nor the summer,

tis’ long past the chill of fall,

for upon us arrives so startling,

tis faint whisper, not a squall,

   for lovely ever lasting spring,

with gifts arrives for one n’ all
