Les Petits Maraudeurs

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Faisant sonner leur gaieté franche
Dans leur beau rire à plein gosier,
Ils massacrent le cerisier,
Et chacun emporte sa branche.

Mais quelle branche ! longue et large,
Toute foisonnante de fruit,
Qui tremble au soleil et reluit
En les inclinant sous sa charge !

Qu’importe ! ils se sauvent là-bas
Vers le bon ombrage, d’un pas
Que l’avidité rend alerte,

Et les bœufs regardent, rêvants,
Ces petits cerisiers vivants
Qui cheminent dans l’herbe verte.
