Bavardes comme des perruches,
Elles cheminent vers le puits
Qui bâille au milieu des grands buis,
— Les abeilles rentrent aux ruches,

En grignotant le pain des huches,
Elles font des haltes, et puis,
Bavardes comme des perruches,
Elles cheminent vers le puits.

Elles vont balançant leurs cruches,
Et moi, des yeux, tant que je puis,
Dans le crépuscule je suis
Ces diseuses de fanfreluches,
Bavardes comme des perruches.
