Le petit ver luisant dans l’herbe
S’allume cette fois encor
A la même place ! Le cor
Pleure au loin ; la nuit est superbe.

Au doux âge où l’on est imberbe,
Je l’admirais comme un trésor.

Mais, dira le penseur acerbe :
« Tout ce qui reluit n’est pas or ! »
Moi, je réponds à ce butor,
Que j’aime, en dépit du proverbe,
