Le Rebouteux

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Fixe, de la queue à la tête,
La truie est là sur les cailloux.
Auprès, une vieille à genoux,
Gesticule, pleure et tempête.

Et, mains au dos, plus d’un s’arrête,
Supputant d’un air neutre et doux
Combien de lard et de saindoux
Pourrait fournir l’énorme bête,

Quand le rebouteux de l’endroit,
Rouge, empêché de marcher droit
Par une vineuse cuvée,

Arrive et dit, plein d’onction :
« Il y a complication. »
Je crois bien ! la truie est crevée.
