Le Facteur rural

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Par la traverse et par la route,
Il abat kilomètre et lieue ;
Et, quand il rentre à sa banlieue,
Il est si tard qu’il n’y voit goutte.

— Dans les prés, un troupeau qui broute ;
Sur les buissons, un hoche-queue.
Par la traverse et par la route,
Il abat kilomètre et lieue.

A son aspect, le chien veloute
Sa langue, en remuant la queue ;
Et les richards en blouse bleue
Lui font casser plus d’une croûte
Par la traverse et par la route.
