La Mort du cochon

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Moi, qui l’avais vu si petit,
Je fus tout chagrin de sa perte,
Et cette pauvre masse inerte
Ne m’inspira nul appétit.

Lorsque chacun se divertit
Et festoya dans l’herbe verte,
Moi, qui l’avais vu si petit,
Je fus tout chagrin de sa perte.

Mais la porchère compatit
A son sort, dans la cour déserte,
Car, en voyant sa bête ouverte,
Ce sanglot de son cœur sortit :
« Moi qui l’avais vu si petit ! »
