La Meunière

La meunière, une forte et rougeaude jeunesse,
Chantait dans sa charrette en piquant son bardeau ;
Tout à coup, l’animal quittant son pas lourdaud,
Partit brusque ! il venait de sentir une ânesse.

Celle-ci, l’ayant vu du fond du brouillard pâle,
D’un long cri de désir hélait le bourriquot
Lequel hâtait sa course en ébranlant l’écho
D’un grand hi-han tout plein de sa vigueur de mâle.

Jointe, ce fut l’éclair ! Entre ses pieds roidis
Il lui serra les flancs et l’eut toute ! Et, tandis
Qu’allaient se consommant ces amours bucoliques,

Renversée en arrière, avec un œil fripon,
La meunière, à deux mains rabattant son jupon,
Riait, jambes en l’air sur les limons obliques.
