Coucher de soleil

Maurice Rollinat 1846 (Châteauroux) – 1903 (Ivry-sur-Seine)

Le soleil sur les monts s’écroule,
S’empourpre, et, graduellement,
Rétrécit son rayonnement,
Toujours plus se ramasse en boule.

Sa grande âme presque exhalée,
De ses derniers soupirs de feu
Rougit la côte et le milieu
De la solitaire vallée.

Et quand il s’éteint, descendu
Sur un roc lierreux et fendu,
Taché de noir comme les marbres,

Il figure, brûlant les yeux,
Un saint sacrement monstrueux
Qui saigne parmi des troncs d’arbres.
