J’aime tes longs cheveux et tes pâles menottes,
Tes petits pieds d’enfant, aux ongles retroussés,
Tes yeux toujours pensifs et jamais courroucés,
Ta bouche de velours et tes fines quenottes.

Puis, j’adore ton cœur où, comme des linottes,
Gazouillent à loisir tes rêves cadencés ;
Ton cœur, aux sentiments touffus et nuancés,
Et ton esprit qui jase avec toutes les notes.

Ton frôlement me fait tressaillir jusqu’aux os
Et dans ses regards pleins d’invisibles roseaux
Ta prunelle mystique enveloppe mon âme :

Donc, tu m’as tout entier, tu me subjugues ! Mais,
En toi, je ne sais pas et ne saurai jamais
Ce que j’aime le mieux de l’Ange ou de la Femme !
