What's wrong

James Vincient Johnson 1952 (Algoma WV)

What’s wrong?

Why can’t we just love one another and get alone?
Because they are tasteful,
And we learn not to be wasteful, yet fight at home!

Why can’t we just love one another and get alone?
Because we have a seven-year itch,
And they are down to switch us to our last bone!

Why can’t we just love one another and get alone?
Because they are unfaithful and hateful,
And we will never learn to be distrustful or groan!

Why can’t we just love one another and get alone?
Because they like to sing the same old song,
And we like to pull their thong.  Oh, so wrong!

Why can’t we just love one another and get alone?
Because we are the trouble,
And not their big brother or clone!

We are made up of everybody and never alone.
You are of yourself and always sing a bad song.
This is why we just can’t love one another and get alone!
