A Poet's Ambition

A Poet’s Ambition
By Robert T. Davenport

In the realm of words, where dreams take flight,
I stand as a poet, daring to ignite,
A fire within hearts, a spark in the soul,
For poetry's love, my ambition takes its toll.

I dare to be different, to break the mold,
To weave verses of stories, yet untold,
For in the tapestry of life, I see the hues,
All shades of people, their struggles and views.

With ink as my weapon, I'll bridge the divide,
Uniting hearts, where love shall reside,
For poetry knows no boundaries or walls,
It embraces all, as the universe calls.

In these pages of life, my passion shall flow,
Like a river of emotions, where hearts can grow,
I'll paint with words, the colors of hope,
And inspire souls, to rise and cope.

For poetry is the language of the heart,
A symphony of emotions, a work of art,
It speaks of love, of pain, and of grace,
A healing balm, in this chaotic space.

So let us gather, from every corner and land,
Hand in hand, we'll make a stand,
For the love of poetry, we shall unite,
Embracing diversity, with all our might.

No matter the differences, we shall find,
A common ground, where souls intertwine,
For in the beauty of words, we shall see,
The essence of humanity, shining free.

So, fellow poets, let us dare to be bold,
To write with passion, as our stories unfold,
For in the book of life, our voices shall rise,
Bringing love, understanding, and endless skies.

Let us be the change, that this world needs,
Through poetry's power, we shall succeed,
For in the depths of our souls, we hold the key,
To unlock the doors, and set our spirits free.

Congratulations Robert. I had this poem pinned, and it was difficult choosing a clear winner. It is certainly worthy of the win. The message is clear. Poetry has a special bond for those who endeavor.

I very much like the message of the poem in today's divided world as the author realizes how poetry and the heart of a word can transcend all cultures, religions, races, and the prevailing dissensions in our current world to find that portal to unite us.
I enjoyed the balance and flow of ideas, thoughts, and cadence in the poem overall. The author has a knack for the written word and poetry.

For the love of poetry we shall unite embracing diversity with all our might. Poetry is the language of the heart. I like how you started out as one poet in this world and as I continued to read I saw how you brought all poets together as one . No matter how different our writings are, we as poets speak from the heart. Thank you

I have written a poem about the actual act of writing poems, but this poem about being a poet is so heart felt and actually made my eyes water. Definitely worth the vote
