Love's Tragedy

You're full of gifts and vibrance,
Time spent leaves one delighted.
Deep connection -
Sharing thoughts held private,
No trust with most -
They get loud loud silence.
Creating a shroud of mystery,
This one that one
want to be next to me,
Hate the non-committal tendencies,
Wanting stability
while I'm drifting aimlessly.
To love and be loved
deepest by one?
Or by so many?

True love truly has a recipe:

    Mixing in our own ingredients
    changes the taste
    we thought we liked
    but after sitting overnight
we throw the whole dish out
    after an early morning bite.

Revenge isn't the only one with a dish.
Have you tasted Loves Tragedy?

About this poem

This poem peers into a man's encounter with a mysterious woman that he very much admires. They both felt a connection and though she is desired and "loved" by many she offers to him a chance to go deeper. Therein lies the contest of this man grappling with the desire of connecting deeper with this sort of woman only to realize that altering true love's recipe ultimately leads to tragedy.
