Wiley's Barack
Obama in black suit
and brown armchair
hands on opposite knees
head as large as either of hands
Staring forwards into our eyes
top button of shirt post-
presidentially unbuttoned
44th President caught in botanicals
of green ... greener ... greenest
and bits of flowers here and there
red purple yellow orange white
Archaeological silence stresses
grievance of gravity he'd conquered
without 'partridges and scepters
and thrones and robes and
mounting me on horses.'
