Sois heureuse ! qu’importe à tes yeux l’horizon
Et l’aurore et la nuit et l’heure et la saison,
Que ta fenêtre tremble aux souffles de l’hiver
Ou que, l’été, le vent du val ou de la mer
Semble quelqu’un qui veut entrer et qu’on accueille.
Sois heureuse. La source murmure. Une feuille
Déjà jaunie un peu tombe sur le sentier ;
Une abeille s’est prise aux fils de ton métier,
 
Car le lin qu’il emploie est roux comme du miel ;
Un nuage charmant est seul dans tout le ciel ;
La pluie est douce ; l’ombre est moite. Sois heureuse.
Le chemin est boueux et l’ornière se creuse,
Que t’importe la terre où mènent les chemins !
Sois heureuse d’hier et sûre de demain ;
N’as-tu pas, par ta chair divine et parfumée,
L’ineffable pouvoir de pouvoir être aimée ?
