Grandma's Goodbye

A song deep in my heart
      to help me get by
A glistening tear
      refusing to dry
To bury the dead
      among the many
A nightmare about
      the death of my Granny
The sudden fear
      abandonment & pain
Deep desolation
      the freezing rain
She quietly rests
      surrounded by satin & wood
Awaiting the reunion
      with Papaw for good
The breezes slightly blow
      a gentle warm scent
A blessing from Grandma
      heavenly sent
She loves me still
      this I know
Even after all the years
      I stayed undertow
But now she rests
      her spirit it flys
My only regret
      being such sad goodbyes
But this was a dream
      this time it was
Sad thing is
      I know this day
Will someday come.

I’m so sorry for your loss. She loved you, and she loves you, and she wants you to live a satisfying life. You will see her again.
