    Cat Ellington was born Kimberly Monique Hart on November 28, 1970 to unwed parents Linda Marie Hart and Ezell Ellington-Jenkins in Chicago, IL. She grew up with her older brother, RaVan Hart, and her mother Linda on Chicago's southside.
    A multi-genre songwriter/composer, casting director, poet, art model, and published book reviewer, Cat Ellington is well-known for founding her independent music publishing house, the Black Jaguar Music Company, which produces her 24-genre song catalogue, and the Centaur Casting Agency, through which she took on the job of casting her first independent feature film titled "Dual Mania" from 1993-1995.
     
    Christened 'The Hardest Working Woman in the Arts,' Chicago native Cat Ellington is a highly distinctive public figure whose professional creativity extends a number of artistic fields, including music, movies, art, and literature.
    A multi-genre songwriter/composer, casting director, poet, and professional art model, the innovative Ellington, who also contributes to the literary community as a consecutively published book reviewer, is the author of the Reviews by Cat Ellington Complete Anthology series - a chronicle of nonfiction books featuring over 38 years of her personally penned literary examinations released in bundled collections.
