Resistant to heal,
deepened day by day-

Rocking the baby all through the night,
she rolled over the bed many times,

Aching bones and messy hair,
broken spirits, puffy eyes,
but who cares?

It is half past three but no sign of sleep,
the mother wept but silently.

I chose this poem as the contest winner as it portrays the selfish side of Human nature and how humans can be greedy, un-thankful for the innumerable blessings they already possess. This poem vividly reflects how we, as humans, disappoint God now and then.
