Hi! I am a high school senior with a love for books and writing. My passion for literature grew at a young age and has since grown exponentially with every day! I've always been attracted to poetry, and as of a few months ago, I've started writing my own. Hopefully, with Poetry.com, I can spread my poetry with others who love writing it just as much as I do!

This poem is one that really made me think. I have a grandfather who served in war and sometimes his mental struggles can be seen as he loses focus on reality and falls into whatever is happening in his mind. Often times he speaks about the war in which he served. I really enjoyed this poem and the way it was written, and truly believe this should be the winner.
