love flies away
reality's empty cage remains
sweet song sounds no more
loneliness deafening...

invisible dread
creeping 'round every corner
ready to leap out
and startle my distortions
to life

the doom speakers
and fortune tellers
eager to weave
the tales of fear rought
with strife

easy breathing
winds of calm
batter...

is the monument to true self
i attempt to build
on the shifting sands
that are my insecurities

each new brick laid
quickly crumbling to the ground
at the slightest hint
of foul weather

where i desire a shrine to enlightenment stand
