Time's Keeper
The clock ticks and tocks
tells us we are running behind
reminds many we're no longer jocks
keeps moving ahead without a remind.
The clock maker must have good hands
and eyes that can tell if disaster is lurking
and ears that detect the falling of sands
and a mind that can grasp the universe's workings.
The clock tower builder must have tools true
to keep the clock from falling on hard times
to make the hours visible and look new
to show off the hands that hold the lines.
The clock watcher must be very cautious
not to pay too much attention to every second
not that with every second someone wishes
not to waste the little time they have with a yawn.
