In My Mind's Eye (3 of 3)

That there are thousands of them "living" in a city
Where 'stars' live (in mansions and virtual palaces...
In unimaginable riches) and die
Making "diehards" tear up and break to pieces,
Because they are so loved and will be greatly missed
Brings to mind a rhetorical question, that, ironically
Is shouting for an answer: Isn't that man outside
Walgreen store somebody's son or brother,
Or a friend and neighbor...a "family" so loved,
And greatly missed?
That they are here in "my kind of town" (the second
Biggest in this richest country in God's green
And hospitable earth), makes me...
In my heart of heart want to scream my lungs out.
...and the words will be perverse and ugly.
