All Hallows' Eve

By the dark of the night and the light of the moon
The barrier between magic and reality wanes thin
 Ghosts, ghouls, and goblins
 And the pixies spin

Costume-clad children haunt door to door
 Playing pranks and begging treats
Vampires, werewolves, and zombies run amuck
 Attempting tricks and eating sweets

Haunted houses, spider webs, jack-o-lanterns aplenty
 Costume contests, parties, dances
Pumpkins and princesses, angels and demons
 Clandestine glances

Too many costumes to choose from
Whether you decide to dress nice or mean
I'm going to dress up as a cat
 Happy Halloween!
