A Heart I've Broken

Now that I go back in my head
I hear the things I should of said
I knew where you stood when you looked at me
And I should of known it wouldn't stay that easy

I'm sorry I don't feel the same
But I feel as though I'm the one to blame
For the tears I know you'll shed tonight
I know deep down I snuffed a light

Alone I stand upon this road
No place to turn that doesn't feel cold
I'll stand through the night 'till morn's blue
With tears on my face that I shed for you

Now what am I to see when I look to you?
A heart I've broken, quite plainly in two?
If only you knew I still loved your laugh
That would heal your heart, if only one half

It's so late, I think I see the sun
Another day, another run
One friend I feel I've lost too soon
One smile that'll die instead of bloom
