The urban gardner

~~~
Not much of a part time gardener
Although in latter years I have given
The hobby more time.
~
The various colors of growth I view and
Enjoy as when as a child I observed and
Experienced the mystique of the rising
And the setting of the sun.
~
Because of a lack of space hanging
Baskets and pots contain my garden.
Of course seeds and bulbs in fertile
Bedding and compost well watered is
A requirement far from the thought of
My childhood.
~
Often plucking dying or dead growth,
Especially flowers, a habit gathered in
Latter years with an amazing renewal
Is the encouraging result...
And if you are in the habit of flowering
Please reflect upon the growth of the
Garden content- its various shapes
And colours plus the reality of growth
Will provide a reflection of its source.
~
Yes, the reality of aging makes one
Think about the necessity of filling
The time of ones day. So one fulfills
The gift of life which is best to be
Actively lived than surrendering
To ones aging process.
