Midnight in Sitka Park

The silence of the park
seizes the hour of dusk,
where majestic snow-capped
 mountains adjoin the skies of midnight blue;
a halo of light encircles the quiescent scene
which highlights a child's red jacket left behind
at the end of the slide.

The playground is the sanctuary of childhood
beginning and childhood ending;
it is where laughing and yelling are allowed to be,
especially at midnight when the spirits of
frolicsome adventure overtake the child in all of us.

My philosophy is to write something everyday to keep the cobwebs away. more…
