An Aged Slate Made Anew

I've moved forward finally on that road; what a trail to traverse before me

There are many obstacles I've yet to challenge and so many I've overcome

It is amazing to see what lies behind me and the pride I feel is so intense

Not much else has changed for me except my outlook and acceptance of life

Skies are surely bluer and nights come easier with much-needed rest at last

There's nothing but the future and the many possibilities that lie at my feet

Cupid, though gone, sends his intent to visit me again with a promise of love

Whatever is to come, I must embrace it all with much passion unrelenting

In time, the sun of my heart will come out again; with its rays of refreshment

Thus will the flowers of my soul again bloom with the rain my tears of joy produce
