An Artist's Love

Oh, to have an artist be in love with you.

To have an author be in love with you,
seeing a person like you in a book of theirs.
They write your story and theirs together, entwining them for all the world to see.

To have a poet be in love with you.
Vocalizing thoughts, their heart and mind synchronize,
painting pictures of a different time with the two of you happily together.

To have a songwriter be in love with you,
Who turns the beating of their heart for you into the beats of a song,
making everyone feel the way you make them feel.

To have a painter be in love with you,
every stroke containing a thought of you.
Magnificent works from their hands, unafraid to show others their love for you.

To have a sculptor be in love with you,
Using the same lump of clay, who knows how much they love you.
With their hands, professing love over and over again until the piece is good enough.

Oh, how wondrous it is to have an artist be in love with you.
To be their secret muse whom no one may ever know.
To be the reason behind their creations, you do not know.
To be a driving force for them, even if they do not know.

Oh, to have an artist to be in love with you.
Immortalizing you-your essence, your being
Your very soul in every piece they make.

The countless late nights creating something for you,
Something of you,
Even you may not know.

The feeling of pain if you leave
because behind every piece is a piece of their own soul.
Their pieces become memories of a happier time,
Memories of a younger them,
a fuller them.

Oh, to have an artist to be in love with you.
