You Don't Know Her

Palak Pramod 2002 (Mumbai)

She swam across,
What they call,
An ocean of sorrows.
Starlit her eyes,
Sunshine in her morrows.

You don't know her
Mother of this planet,
She's the daughter of the Sun.
The more you try to dim her light,
The more she'll burn.

Once she was abandoned
By her own good deeds.
Now, she has forgotten to yearn.
Unbreakable she stands,
More of life to learn.

And you tried to drown her
Beware of her flood!
Volcanoes summoned she was made,
Fire in her blood.

About this poem

The poem summarizes the thoughts of a beautiful woman. A woman who has been left out. The world treated her unfairly, destined abandoned her. Knowing all this now she stands firm on her beliefs and strength. She is not as weak as she was before, infact now her strength knows no boundaries. The realization of her self-worth is now her utmost power.
