Your Fault, My Fault, Nobody's Fault

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

If you are fired where you work
Because they just downsized,
It's not your fault; you did not shirk
The job that you once prized.

When you drive home to tell your spouse
About the job you lost,
And learn the mortgage on your house
Was not paid so you're cross.

For that you only have yourself
To blame.  You did forget!
Regardless of your size of wealth,
Pay all the bills you get!

For some events it will not be
Worthwhile to fix the shame
On someone when you ought to see
That no one is to blame.

About this poem

For some events, it doesn't matter who's to blame!
