Eyes' Deception, Souls' Connection

"The surface draws the eyes, a pleasing sight,
Alluring form and figure, falsely bright.
Deeper within, the mind and soul ignite,
Unseen, unfelt, till brought forth into light.
No thirst quenched by a drop so trite,
Fleeting fancy, a wisp to take flight,
Magnetic pull of hearts aright.
Rarest jewel, beyond any diamond's might,
To find a match of spirit, mind's delight.

What eye beholds, the heart cannot indite,
Surface beauty fails to spark and excite,
Hollow shell where depth and meaning lack.
Brief passion's flame, a dying ember's light.
Fair facade alone cannot attract,
Nor stir soul's wants, nor hold mind captive.
Glamour fades, illusion cannot last,
Substance craved, meaning desired, facts.
Mental fusion, spirits aligned, souls paired,
True desire, eternal, deeply shared.

Love's contours shift, change over years,
While mind connection, steadfast, perseveres.
Outer beautybrittle, prone to break,
While mental union, timeless, powers underestimate.
Looks diminish, passion winds down,
But matching minds, understanding abound.
Surface tension passes, fickle, uncertainty bound,
United thinking, solid, cemented ground.
Physical craving transient, unstable territory found,
Mental matching, rocksteady, sturdy foundation around.

Eyes feast awhile, quickly sated,
Stimulation wanes, appeal abated.
While intellect's allure, ever-intriguing,
Always discovering, gripping, never fleeing.
Physical presence, short lived intoxication,
Mental merging, enduring fascination.
Surface sparks, flint fire, flare and fizzle out,
Depth of mind, slow burning embers, lasting clout.
Momentary admiration, insignificant rout,
Meeting of minds, special, serendipitous route.

Judging by looks risks bitter taste,
Finding true match, higher calling to chase.
Not all that glimmers shines golden ray,
Nor pretty packages, valuable displays.
Do not be tempted by external choice,
Seek inner depth, listen to inner voice.
In flesh may dwell spirit unequal, unfit,
Reach further to find alignment exquisite.

Beauty and youthcrops that wither and fade,
While mental care increasinglyneeded, disobeyed.
Surface cracks, corrodes, steps towards decay.
But minds can flourish, insightunpacks astray.
What eyes savornow lost in yesterday,
Thoughts shared deeply, solid, firmly stay.
Outer shine, superficial, led hearts betray,
United minds, complete, fulfilled, pave the way.

Look beyond the obvious clues,
Feel out the shape the truth pursues.
Peel the coverto reach the core,
Measure mental strengthspirit's store.
Though eyes draw firstfrom caveman days,
Mind must referee to walk love's maze.
Follow wise heart, not reflex gaze,
At surface glimmer, do not graze.
True love, timeless, of mind's make,
Not just skin, or form, to ache."
