Hearts Alight in Love's Symphony: An Oath in Love's Timeless Embrace
That fated day my heart did yearn,
To make a bond that I did spurn,
With trembling hands and voice unsure,
I laid my trembling heart bare.
Your radiant smile my comfort was,
As nervous words did pass my lips,
To paint a future bright with bliss,
Bound tight with love's sweet kiss.
Your gentle eyes did pierce my soul,
As vulnerability I did share,
My life within your hands lay whole,
Awaiting your tender care.
My pounding heart near burst with fear,
As silence hung o'er us like veil,
Those moments stretched as if a year,
Till you did my fate seal.
Your dulcet voice like angels' song,
The answer sweet I hoped for give,
Our lives together now belong,
In love we're bound to live.
My breath it left me in that space,
As joy flooded my trembling frame,
Our souls now intertwined by grace,
In love we're bound the same.
The years ahead stretched out unknown,
Yet with you by my side I'll go,
Whatever fates for us are sown,
Together we will sow.
My heart still flutters thinkin' back,
To that fateful nervous day,
When I the question did you ask,
That changed life's course and way.
For 6 minutes I ceased to be,
As heart attack struck me down,
All visions of our life did flee,
As I lay still on the ground.
My spirit watched o'er the scene,
As confusion round me spread,
I prayed to live to fulfill our dream,
The life together ahead.
By fortune's grace I was revived,
And gasped again the breath of life,
Our love had kept me alive,
Despite death's chilling strife.
I awoke to your tearful smile,
As you clasped my hand in care,
Our bond had saved me all the while,
Showing love's power rare.
In nervous joy my heart had burst,
Yet your sweet love healed me anew,
From now until we're laid in hearse,
My devotion's sworn to you.
So though I feared that moment so,
When I laid my heart out bare,
Your tender grace helped it grow,
Beyond nervousness and scare.
For though your answer silent hung,
The joy shone in your gentle eyes,
Assuring me where I belong,
Is by your side my prize.
Our lives now sail twined passing years,
Whatever storms or strife appear,
With you I have no traces of fear,
For our love makes all clear.
When nervousness makes my heart quake,
I think back to where this began,
How your love my fears did break,
As our new life's course ran.
So when next unsure I stand,
I'll remember your assuring eyes,
And clasp more gently your hand,
Knowing love will win 'gainst lies.
For though life brings twists unknown,
With you I'm ready all to face,
Hand in hand we'll travel on,
Empowered by love's grace.
So thank you for taking my heart,
When nervous and unsure I pled,
For saying yes to a hopeful start,
To a life together ahead.
I'll cherish each year that we're given,
Be the valleys dark or mountaintops bright,
This precious love bond earth and heaven,
Filled with care, trust and delight.
My heart still skips a beat in awe,
At your boldness taking my hand,
Saying yes to love's earnest call,
To walk this life's road hand in hand.
So when nerves make my voice grow weak,
I'll remember your strength that day,
Taking a chance our lives to seek,
Come what may.
And if my heart ceases to beat,
As nervousness makes it burst again,
I know your love will keep me alive,
Until we meet at journey's end.
So thank you my love for your heart,
For taking my hand 'midst fear back then,
I vow to play well my part,
Loving you until life's end.
Your eyes like stars that light my way,
When shadows stretch across our path,
Your smile like sunshine brightens each day,
Through all of life's joy and wrath.
Your melodic laugh makes flowers bloom,
Chasing away sadness and strife,
With you is happiness' perfumed room,
The essence of a blissfilled life.
Your grace and poise inspire my heart,
To rise to nobleness from petty lies,
For this precious love we now start,
Is worth all sacrifice wise.
I marvel at your depths untold,
The wisdom in your glance I glean,
Like a lake of silver and gold,
Still waters run deep I've seen.
You anchor me amidst the storms,
When doubt and worry toss me about,
Your calm faith my anxious heart transforms,
Dispelling fear's urge to doubt.
My soul mirrors your radiant being,
For you've awakened the best parts of me,
In your eyes my purest self I'm seeing,
From you flows love's creativity.
Our lives now sail twined passing years,
Whatever storms or strife appear,
With you I have no traces of fear,
For our love makes all clear.
When nervousness makes my heart quake,
I think back to where this began,
How your love my fears did break,
As our new life's course ran.
So when next unsure I stand,
I'll remember your assuring eyes,
And clasp more gently your hand,
Knowing love will win 'gainst lies.
For though life brings twists unknown,
With you I'm ready all to face,
Hand in hand we'll travel on,
Empowered by love's grace.
So thank you my love for your heart,
When nervous and unsure I pled,
For saying yes to a hopeful start,
To a life together ahead.
