A Father's Love

A Father's Love

Thank you. Thank you for never being there when I needed help.  Thank you for never helping me. Thank you for never saving me.  Thank you for making me do everything on my own. Thank you for making me depend on only myself. Thank you for making me so strong that I don't need anyone. Thank you for making me be able to do everything by myself.
Because of you, I trust no one. Because of you I depend on no one. Because of you I am able to survive all on my own.
Thank you for making me not depend on anyone! Thank you for showing me that I can do all things without anyone's help! Thank you. Thank you for never saving me. Thank you for never making my life easy. Thank you for leaving me to do it all alone.  Thank you for leaving me. Thank you for abandoning me.
Thank you for showing me what not to do as a parent. Thank you for showing me I don't need a man. Not even a father. Thank you for making me feel less than. Thank you for making it important for my child to never question if he is loved.  Thank you for making me the person that is my child's everything. Thank you that my child will never question his worth. Thank you that my child will always have me to depend on until the day I die.  Thank you that my child is confident in his looks and abilities and worth.
Because of you he knows his mommy will always love him no matter what. Because of you I am the strongest person I know. Because of you I can survive the worst and thrive in the silence and aloneness that breaks everyone else.
Thank you for making me always be prepared for the worst. Thank you for making me strong enough to make it through anything.
Though you were never there when I needed you, never there for me to depend on, never there to show me what love is, I rose above. I survived. I know true love with my child. I will never leave them. I will always be there, no matter what.
Because of you there is nothing that can break me.  Because of you, I always come out the other side of the fire on my own two feet. Sometimes carrying others on my back.
Thank you. Thank you for making me the undefeatable person I am today.  Thank you for making me the strongest most loving protective mommy of all.  Thank you for hurting me and letting me know what it feels like so that i am able to make sure my child never knows that hurt, that pain, never knows those questions.
Thank you that because of you I am everything I never had. Everything I always needed and wanted. Thank you for making me the person that makes my son never have to feel any of the heartache I had.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
