I'M JUST A KID?!

I'M JUST A KID? ME,
LET ME SAY THAT AGAIN, IM JUST A KID!

If I'm just a kid, I should not be scolded as I do
I should not be trusted because I “lie”
I look as if I'm 5 and I’m told I sound as if I am 6
I can't take it anymore

If I'm just a kid then you're no more than a teen
If I'm just a kid then I have no idea what is going on with the world, or myself
I can't bare the hate you give to me because I'm just a “kid.”
So, I can cry and cry but you will only say “Be a big girl, big girls don't cry”
Wake up to reality because everyone cries
I can't take it anymore

The thought of me being 4 or 5 makes me want to cry
If I'm just a kid I should not know my rights
If I'm just a kid then I can't say any speech
But here I am because I'm not just a kid just because I'm 4’11’’ does not mean I'm 8, or 7
I'm just short, I'm not a kid, I'm almost 5’ which you call tall
I'm almost an adult or a teen, but till I’m 5’7’’ I’m just a kid
I can’t take it anymore

If I'm below your standards then leave me here alone
I'll wait of someone to find me
Someone to take me home
To see I'm not just a kid
I'll settle for something short but not too short
Because I don't want YOUR KID  telling mine he’s “just a kid.”
