A man's way

Lee Coates 1984 (North sea)

A training journey
Warriors heart grows stronger
Ascend to new heights

About this poem

Its about the duty of a strong, capable man who's life is centred around training the mind and body to be ready for war. Though avoiding it [war] where possible, being in a state of readiness to fight and striking the balance with calmness within has become a central tenet. Aloneness and focus are key; it's a choice he's made, sacrificing wine, song and hedonistic activities in order to master himself. This man is me.
