An Ode to St. Michael's Higher Secondary School of Umsning, Ri Bhoi

In St. Michael's Higher Secondary School of Umsning, Ri Bhoi,
Young scholars spend each day in learned toil and joy.
'Tis there they learn and grow, from youth to manhood fair,
And though they oft complain, they love the life they lead,
For in that hallowed place, they gain a priceless store
Of knowledge, skills, and friends, to serve them evermore.

The mornings bring them classes, where they sit and listen well,
And learn of history, of science, art, and lore.
Their teachers are a font of wisdom, wise and fair,
And guide the students on, through every step and store.
And though the lessons may be hard, the students' days are filled with joy,
For in their studies, they discover truths to lead.

And after classes are done, there comes a time for play,
A time for sport and games, a time to laugh and lead.
The students run and jump, and chase a leather ball,
And sweat and pant, and feel their youthful spirits soar.
And though they may grow tired, they find new strength and joy,
For in their play, they bond, and build a bond forevermore.

And as the day draws on, they eat and rest and talk,
Of all they've learned and done, and plans they have in store.
They share their hopes and dreams, and make new friends, and learn,
That though they come from different homes, they have a common goal.
And though their days are long, they find it hard to leave,
For in that place, they feel a sense of peace and joy.

And as the sun sets red, they leave that school behind,
And walk the dusty roads, and head back to their door.
They carry with them all they've learned, and all they've felt,
And though they may forget, they'll never lose the store.
For what they've gained in school, they'll carry with them always,
And find new strength and hope, and live a life of joy.

And so the cycle goes, the students come and go,
And learn and grow and play, and live a life of joy.
And though the years may pass, the memories remain,
A treasure trove of joy, that they can always claim.
For in that school of St. Michael's, in Umsning, Ri Bhoi,
They've gained a wealth of knowledge, that will serve them evermore.
