You're Being Dramatic

What is the point of human nature and society
MK-ULTRA never happened, we're all safe and happy
The government isn't threatening nuclear war under our noses
Your boyfriend must love you because, wow, he brought you roses
No one is lying to you and conspiracy theories are silly
They exist just to entertain those with nothing better to do than blame others for their follies
Truly, if anything's wrong it's your fault
As you type on your computer and pretend to write down something deep from your mind vault
Using words such as "gaslighting" and coming up with anything to rhyme, you think you're so clever that you're better off dead
Nothing is the matter, and don't you dare think there's more to what's been said
Absolutely, undoubtedly, it's all in your head.
How dramatic can one person be, venting in prose?
It's this generation, I suppose
No one is hurting you and you need to get over it all
We'll put you in a psych ward if you communicate or promote the ideas we all think are false
We, we, we... all the way home.
You couldn't rebel against the people who taught you those nursery rhymes, protected you in a steel dome?
We taught you all that's good, true, now, and here
You're being ornery, dear.
You're safe. Go back to bed.
