What's Existence?

Is it good or is it bad,
That caring, somehow we stopped?
All these colours bring no joy
Everything seems a decoy.

What on earth could be a life
When the heart would stop from beating?
Can we at least revive the art
And find Existence and its meaning?

What’s this symbol on the paper
Which we always read in black?
Is it the Devil, the Seducer,
Or an angel, bless thy heart!

Is it good or is it cruel
That a brain has died in sleep,
That the books seem to be burning
Up on that blessed hill?

Can you cry with blood and pray
For the hydrangeas to smell nice…
Or for the air to enter lungs
Instead of piercing through the souls?

Because in vain we try to save
Beauty, fairness and the quiet,
While the Devil is on wait
To ambush humans with his fire.

About this poem

"What's Existence?" is a text written at the beginning of the worst months of my life, when I was confused as to what exactly my values where; I wanted to show that things definitely changed in the last few years, in how we interact with people and how we perceive the environment around us.
