A HEART'S FLEE

On legs, it walked away from me
 The heart I knew true
The sad tale of what will be
My love had gone askew

Paint on canvas splattered at random
Oozing, sliding, drops in drops
I see shades of red and shadow
Bleed my heart for you have lost

Don't let the neighbours see this
 Hide the hole that's new
Let them see you smile with bliss
Your heart's fled from you

Life is but a wonderful dream
Slips right through reality's stream

About this poem
