If only I'd had the Nerve

Eyes like sea foam
And voice like honey.
They remind me of home.
But isn't it funny?

How every day I would try again
To confess my truth.
Though she never listened when
We were in our youth.

And now every morning
I bring her flowers.
'Cuz she never saw the warning.
Her thoughts, it seems, they overpower

Her desire to continue.
I wish she'd seen the light she brought
It filled up bright within you.
So in the fields, I sit in thought

To find the words that she deserve
In my heart, I have to dive
If only I'd had the nerve
When she was still alive.
